In case you’re wondering what came after NU, here’s the right place where you should be – LANtelligence, Inc.

Like any other grownups’ life process – finishing school and getting a job, I started my first job as a Social Media and Marketing Intern after graduating from NU at a local technology firm based in San Diego, CA – LANtelligence, Inc. To give you an idea about the company, LANtelligence, Inc. provides unified communications and cloud services for other companies. Growing from a small startup by a Canadian CEO, LANtelligence has thrived as one of the most reputable firms in the region of Greater San Diego that offers top-notch tech solutions. I don’t find it necessary to tell how I ended up here. But if you’re international students and you’re reading this, you can imagine how hard and distressing (sometimes traumatizing) it is for people like us to get a job in America since you can totally relate. Therefore, though LANtelligence was not a big and desirable company anyone would wish to work for, I felt blessed enough for landing the job there. Except for the most painful fact that it was an unpaid position and all the traveling cost was on me (two-way coaster and trolley every day I went to work), I was meticulously trained by the two overly strict but kind and enthusiastic Russian bosses. I started with zero work experience, so a deep learning was crucial for me, and obviously my two bosses made really great teachers at work! If it hadn’t been for them, I would have never developed any interest in the Marketing field nor discovered new opportunities later in my career path.

After 6 months of the internship, I stepped out of my first position with a lot skills that were fully shaped and strengthened. The most highlighted one was a proficiency in HubSpot automation platform which I used every day to plan, schedule, and create email marketing, and Social Media posts on LinkedIn and Twitter. Other major skills should include copy-writing, SEO, and certain understandings of the AI and Machine Learning (back in 2019 when I was working for LANtelligence, AI and Machine Learning had yet rapidly developed or globally common compared to today. But it was essential for everyone in my company to keep updated with their trend because we were working in the technology area. I remembered having read a lot of news about AI and Machine Learning worldwide as part of my job and having the latest news posted every time it was released).

To summarize my daily duties and major takeouts from my internship, here’s my every day work and noticeable accomplishments:

  • Used HubSpot Marketing automation platform as customer relationship management (CRM) and content management system (CMS) tool to schedule daily online activities.
  • Developed marketing content by writing articles, blog posts, press releases, and social media posts targeting potential customers.
  • Organized SEO performance for all content marketing.
  • Increased traffic by 15% in two weeks by reaching out business research and advisory companies to request proper back linking when writing about LANtelligence.

Skills developed throughout my internship:

  • Research and analytics skills and social media evidenced by HubSpot Inbound certificate.
  • Market research, Copy-writing, SEO, Digital Marketing, Email Marketing, and Marketing Strategy.

Special thanks to all my direct and indirect bosses: Galina, Yana, John, Joe, the CEO, and everyone else I had the chance to meet and work with at LANtelligence, Inc.
